Dear ,

We are pleased to welcome you to the eighth edition of the Gymnázium Omská Model United Nations in a few weeks. As the event is approaching, the team’s greatest priority is to ensure you are as prepared as possible for this experience.

Opening and Closing Ceremonies

The conference will take place on the 7th–10th November. This year, the ceremonies are taking place at the Prague City Hall (Mariánské náměstí 2/2, 11000 Praha 1–Staré Město).

On Friday 7th, we will be welcoming you from 9:45 AM to 11:00 AM at the entrance where registration will take place. If you for any reason will not be in time, please contact us beforehand so as to not disturb the opening speeches. If you won’t be able to attend any other parts of the conference, make sure to inform your Chairs.

On Monday and after the opening ceremony on Friday, the General Assembly (GA) will be held. The GA is the main policy-making organ of the United Nations comprising all Member States, and thus all delegates of GOMUN25 will participate in the debate altogether.

Icebreakers and Committee Dinners

Icebreakers are the most informal event of MUN conferences. Various games are played separately in each committee to set the atmosphere and help everyone get to know each other (and the Chairs) better.

WhatsApp Groups

All delegates should already have joined their respective WhatsApp groups. In these groups you will be able to contact your Chairs and fellow delegates, and all updates about the conference will be posted there.

Committee Work

Committee work on Saturday and Sunday will be held at the hosting institution Gymnázium Omská (Omská 1300/4, 100 00 Praha 10–Vršovice).

Registration: Both days from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM.

Agenda, Handbook, and Other Important Documents

You will find all the important documents on our website. The handbook will serve as your guide for the four days of the conference, including concrete information about the venues, social event, and the approximate agenda.

Dress Code

As with any Model United Nations conference, GOMUN25 has a mandatory dress code: every participant should be wearing Western business attire throughout the entirety of the conference.

GOMUN Social Event

The official social event of GOMUN is the Sunday GOMUN Ball. This year, the Ball will make you a part of a secret society full of prominent and wealthy figures straight out of Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut.

Position Papers

The deadline for the Position Paper is Tuesday the 4th at 11:59 PM. Submission is mandatory to be eligible for best delegate award, honorable mention, or best newcomer. Please upload your Position Paper HERE. If you need assistance with writing or preparation, please consult our guides on the website (Resolution Guide, Position Paper Guide, etc.).

Note: Delegates of the Crisis Committee do not have to write a Position Paper. Delegates of the International Court of Justice should write Memorial briefs instead.

We remain at your disposal if you have any questions. The entire GOMUN team is thrilled to welcome you in a few days for this unforgettable event.

Diplomatically yours,

Nina VYSUŠILOVÁ
Secretary-General of GOMUN25
